In 2018 Tyrepower Dural installed a set of Cooper SRX’s on my Toyota Kluger. Those tyres lasted over 100,000km and I was very glad to join your 100k Club. Naturally, in May last year, we went with Cooper again. The SRX wasn’t available, so Tyrepower recommended the Evolution CTT.
In June this year we decided to go on a road trip through outback NSW and Queensland up to the very top of Cape York, if the car (a 2010 Toyota Kluger AWD with 312,000km on it), and indeed the tyres, would take us that far. I was super-aware that the Evolution CTT’s were designed for highway touring and not for off-road punishment, but with only 20,000km on them I couldn’t upgrade to a nice set of AT’s (especially because Cooper don’t have such a tyre in 245/55/R19).
So we held our breath on our 8500km road trip, hoping (and praying) the tyres would handle the punishment. They did!
The roads we ‘conquered’ were of all conditions … highway, rough rural dirt, rocky, creek crossings, hundreds of kilometres that were highly rutted, mud, sand, bulldust etc. We had no punctures and no loss of air, despite the bashings for 1000’s of kilometres, allowing us to manage iconic roads such as the Bloomfield Track through the Daintree Rainforest and the Bamaga Rd to ‘the Tip’. All, on road tyres and not in a ‘proper’ 4WD! We were definitely the odd one out in all the off-the-beaten-track areas we visited …. to the amazement of many fellow travellers. We heard stories of multiple punctures and kept our fingers tightly crossed.
Maybe it is a case of “wrong tyre, right brand” but these tyres did so well.
I’m not sure if these tyres will make 100k but they gave us a great trip. Thanks for making such a good product.
